The Problem
Do people understand your product in five seconds?
Interface problems rarely announce themselves. Nobody emails to say the form was confusing — they abandon it, and the analytics record a drop-off with no explanation attached. By the time a UI problem is obvious enough to be raised internally, it has usually been costing conversions for months.
Everything weighted the same
When every element competes for attention, none of it gets any. Without a deliberate hierarchy the reader has to work out what matters, and most of them will not bother.
Designed at desktop width
Layouts decided on a large screen fit everything comfortably, which hides the need to prioritize. The compromise then surfaces on mobile, where most of your traffic and nearly all of your lost conversions actually are.
Only the happy path exists
Empty states, error states, long titles and slow connections are where interfaces fall apart. If they were never designed, a developer invented them under deadline pressure and nobody reviewed the result.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The questions we get asked most before a project starts. Can't find what you're looking for?
Ask us directlyUI (User Interface) design focuses on the visual elements of a website or app, such as buttons, icons, typography, and color schemes. It’s crucial because it directly impacts how users interact with your platform. A well-crafted UI design ensures your website is visually appealing, intuitive, and easy to navigate, which enhances user satisfaction and engagement.
User interface design plays a key role in creating a seamless experience for your visitors. By optimizing layouts, improving accessibility, and ensuring consistency across pages, UI design helps reduce bounce rates, increase time spent on your site, and drive conversions. A well-designed interface also builds trust and credibility for your brand.
Responsive design ensures your website adapts to different screen sizes and devices, such as desktops, tablets, and smartphones. With the majority of users accessing websites on mobile devices, responsive design is essential for providing a consistent and user-friendly experience. It also improves your SEO rankings, as search engines prioritize mobile-friendly websites.
Graphic design is a core component of UI/UX design, as it involves creating visually appealing elements that align with your brand identity. High-quality graphics, such as icons, images, and illustrations, enhance the overall aesthetic of your website and make it more engaging. When combined with intuitive UX principles, graphic design ensures your website is both beautiful and functional.
User experience (UX) focuses on the overall feel of using a website or app, including usability, accessibility, and interaction design. While UI design deals with the visual aspects, UX design ensures the entire experience is smooth, efficient, and enjoyable. Together, UI and UX design create a cohesive and user-centric digital product.
Professional UI/UX design ensures your website is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and optimized for conversions. It helps you stand out from competitors, build trust with your audience, and achieve your business goals. A well-designed website also improves SEO performance by reducing bounce rates and increasing user engagement.
UI/UX design and SEO go hand in hand. A well-designed website with fast load times, intuitive navigation, and mobile responsiveness ranks higher on search engines. Additionally, a positive user experience reduces bounce rates and increases dwell time, which are key factors in SEO rankings. By investing in UI/UX design, you’re also optimizing your site for better search visibility.
When choosing a UI/UX design agency, look for expertise in creating user-centric designs, a strong portfolio of past projects, and a focus on responsive and SEO-friendly designs. The agency should also understand your business goals and tailor their designs to meet your specific needs.
Yes, you can update your website’s UI/UX design without disrupting its functionality. A professional design team will ensure that the redesign process is seamless, maintaining all existing features while improving the visual appeal and user experience. Regular updates also help keep your website modern and aligned with current design trends.
The timeline for UI/UX design depends on the complexity of your website, the number of pages, and the level of customization required. On average, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. A detailed consultation with your design team will help establish a realistic timeline for your project
UI/UX designers use a variety of tools to create and test designs, including: Wireframing and Prototyping Tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch Graphic Design Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator User Testing Tools: UsabilityHub, Hotjar Collaboration Tools: InVision, Miro These tools help designers create, iterate, and refine designs to ensure the best possible user experience.
You can measure the success of your UI/UX design through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as: Bounce Rate: A lower bounce rate indicates better engagement. Conversion Rate: Higher conversions mean your design is effective. User Feedback: Direct feedback from users provides valuable insights. Time on Page: Longer dwell times suggest a positive user experience. Regularly analyzing these metrics helps you identify areas for improvement and ensure your website continues to perform well.
A wireframe is a low-fidelity layout showing structure and hierarchy without color, imagery or final copy — it answers what goes where and what matters most. A mockup is the high-fidelity visual design: real color, typography, imagery and copy, showing exactly how the finished screen looks. A prototype links screens together so the flow can be clicked through and tested before anything is built. Each stage is cheaper to change than the one after it, which is the entire reason for working in that order.
It scales to the project. At minimum we review your analytics for where people currently drop out, look at what your competitors do and where they fail, and interview whoever inside your business talks to customers most — usually sales or support, who know the real objections. On larger projects we add user interviews, usability testing on the existing product, and session recordings. What we avoid is designing from assumption and calling it research, which is common and produces confident, wrong decisions.
A design system is a documented library of reusable components — buttons, forms, cards, navigation — with rules for spacing, color, typography and states, so the same element behaves identically everywhere. You need one if you have a product or site large enough that inconsistency has become a problem, or more than one person designing or building. For a small marketing site it is usually overkill. For anything with an application behind it, the absence of one is why the interface drifts over time.
We design to WCAG 2.2 AA as the baseline: color contrast that passes at real text sizes, visible focus states for keyboard navigation, labelled form fields, sensible heading hierarchy, and tap targets big enough to hit on a phone. Accessibility is not a compliance afterthought — the same failures that break screen readers also cost conversions from ordinary users on bad screens in bright light. We treat contrast and focus failures as design defects rather than as an accessibility checklist item.
Yes, and we design mobile first rather than shrinking a desktop layout afterwards. Most commercial traffic arrives on mobile, and the mobile fold is where the majority of conversion is won or lost. Designing desktop first almost always produces a mobile version that is a compromise, because decisions about hierarchy get made at a width where everything fits. Working the other way round forces the priority order to be explicit, and the desktop layout benefits from that clarity too.
Yes. Handover includes the component library, spacing and type scales, responsive behavior specified at each breakpoint, interaction and hover states, empty and error states, and the edge cases that get forgotten — what a card looks like with a very long title, what a table does with no rows. Most friction between designers and developers comes from designs that only specify the happy path. We specify the rest, because otherwise a developer invents it under time pressure.
Often, yes, and it is frequently the better commercial decision. If the underlying structure is sound, targeted work on hierarchy, form design, empty states, mobile layout and the conversion path delivers most of the benefit at a fraction of the cost and risk of a rebuild. A full redesign makes sense when the information architecture itself is wrong, or the technical foundation cannot support what you need. We will tell you which situation you are in, including when the answer is that you do not need us.
Against numbers agreed before the work starts — conversion rate on the target action, form completion and abandonment, task success in usability testing, bounce rate on key entry pages, and Core Web Vitals so we can be sure a visual improvement has not cost performance. We take a baseline first, which sounds obvious and is skipped surprisingly often. Without one, every post-launch discussion becomes a matter of opinion about whether the new version feels better.
